Phone Removal After Transition to Zoom Phone Users
Overview
When your phone number is fully transitioned to Zoom Phone (no longer listed as 'pending'), the Cisco phone will have limited functionality and will need to be removed. The phone may still have a dial tone and be able to place 911 calls, but it will not be able to make or receive external calls (including to Zoom Phone Users).
How to Disconnect your Cisco Phone
Unplug a Cisco phone with a computer attached
- Follow the internet cable from your computer to the Cisco phone.
- Unplug the internet cable from the back of the phone, but leave it plugged into your computer.
- Next, follow the second internet cable from your phone to the wall jack.
- Unplug the phone's internet cable from the wall jack.
- Note which wall jack port the phone was plugged into (you will need it for your computer).
- Wrap the internet cable around the phone.
- Set the phone aside for collection by your department.
- Take the internet cable attached to your computer, and plug it into the wall jack previously used by your phone.
- Your department will collect the phone for return to ITS. Follow your department's instructions for phone collection.

- Set the phone aside for collection by your department.
