Zoom Phone Troubleshooting on iOS Devices
Not receiving call notifications from your iPhone or iOS device? Having issues during calls? Please try the following:
1. Check Zoom for updates: Open App Store → tap on your profile at the top right corner → find the Zoom app and update it as usual.
2. Check on your network connection: Open Settings → Wi-Fi
3. Check for a Zoom server outage: https://status.zoom.us/
4. Check your audio and video permissions: Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and/or Camera. Make sure Zoom is toggled to "on" (green).
5. Fully quit out of Zoom: Double-tap the home button. (This step is optional, if you have an iPhone with Face ID.) Swipe up from the home bar and hold along the middle of the screen. After that, swipe up on the app card to kill the Zoom app.
6. Uninstall and reinstall Zoom: Open Settings → General → iPhone/iPad Storage → Zoom → Delete App → Delete App (again, once prompted) → Once completed, open App Store and search for "Zoom" to reinstall.
7. Turn cellular data off for Zoom: Open Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Toggle Zoom to "off". NOTE: This step helps to troubleshoot issues with Wi-Fi calling while on campus, but will not work for folks who need to use cell data to make calls.
8. Quit any unused apps:
ON IPHONES WITHOUT HOME BUTTON:
Double-tap the home button. Swipe through apps, and stop when you see one you don't need to run currently. Swipe up on the app card to kill the app. Continue swiping until finished closing apps.
ON IPHONES WITH HOME BUTTON:
Open an app. Swipe up from the home bar and hold along the middle of the screen. Swipe through apps, and stop when you see one you don't need to run currently After that, swipe up on the app card to kill the app. Continue swiping until finished closing apps.
9. Check your Bluetooth connection: Open Settings → Bluetooth, and then check your connection status and devices. If you see devices listed that you don't use, click (i) → Forget This Device. Make sure that you are connected to the correct device, and if Bluetooth is not needed for Zoom (e.g., if you're using a wired headset), turn it off to avoid erroneously connecting to devices.
10. Restart your device! Apple provides a guide for how to do this on various iPhone models. Simply find your OS version in the dropdown menu here: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios
