Supported Anti-Virus Products for Eduroam
Antivirus is required to connect to the Swarthmore wireless network
All macOS and Windows computers are required to have antivirus installed, running, and up-to-date. ITS recommends installing antivirus on personal computers before coming to campus. If antivirus is not installed, running, or out of date, the computer will be blocked from the internet.
During the eduroam registration process, the computer will be checked for antivirus. If antivirus is not installed, you will be prompted to install it. This may require you to connect to a hotspot from your phone or SwatGuest wireless as a work around. Many students run into issues when installing antivirus during the eduroam registration process.
NOTE: Windows computers come with antivirus built into the operating system. As long as it is enabled and up-to-date, a second antivirus program is not necessary.
