How to reindex Spotlight Search on Mac
If you are unable to search within your Mac OS using the magnifying glass on the upper right corner (Spotlight Search), follow the below instructions to reindex the Spotlight Search function.
- Go to Applications
- Open the Utilities folder
- Launch Terminal
- Paste in this command: sudo mduti -i on /
- Type in your computer password, you will not see characters as you type - this is normal
- Press enter
- The mac will now reindex Spotlight
