Getting to know the new Fischer Password Portal
Learn how to update your DUO devices and account recovery options using the new Fischer Password Portal.
In March 2025 ITS migrated to the new Fischer Password Portal. This revamped interface replaces the previously used Security Questions with recovery options such as a personal email address and cell phone number. This portal gives users the freedom to manage their DUO Devices and keep these recovery options up-to-date without ITS intervention.
The New Interface
Upon visiting password.swarthmore.edu you will land on a screen that looks like the below which includes links on the left menu and widgets in the center entitled, My Passwords and My Security. On the upper right corner you will find a colored circle with your initials inside.

Navigating the Fischer Password Portal:
My Profile
Within the Password Portal you can update the recovery options linked to your account. Ensure that you have both a personal email address and a personal cell phone number listed. These options replace the previously used Security Questions and offer a secure way to verify your identity before a password reset can be complete. Follow the steps below to update your recovery information:
1. Click the down arrow next to your initials on the top right hand corner of the page and select My Profile

2. Enter your personal email address and personal cell phone number. Verify the information with the verification codes sent to each.

My Passwords
If you know the current password and are able to access the Password Portal successfully you have the ability to reset the password from within the portal. When you click My Passwords on the left menu you are redirected to a page to reset the password. Please note, you will be prompted to verify your identity using one of the two verification methods you have listed under My Profile.

If you do not know your current password or if your password has expired the Forgot Password link is available on the password.swarthmore.edu landing page.

My Security
The new Password Portal now gives you the capability to manage your DUO devices under My Security. Within the portal you can send a reactivation link text message or email to your device. You can also add a new device as well.
